A typical Realtor will charge a seller a commission of 6%.

How long is your listing contract?

We call our a contract a one-day contract, because it only lasts as long as you want it. You can cancel our contract anytime for any reason, prior to receiving an offer.

How long will it take to sell my home?

We don’t know. We know our listings tend to sell faster than average but it is impossible to say how long a particular home will sell. One of our agents can tell you how long homes in your neighborhood took to sell so you can get a general idea.

When is the best time to sell?

Right now! (Isn’t that was we’re supposed to say?) The truth is that is depends on your situation. We know that typically the summer is when the most homes sell and the holiday season at the end of the year is when fewer homes sell. However, each of those seasons are only 20% off from the average throughout the year. Just because more homes sell in the summer, it doesn’t mean your home will sell better. The reason is that although more home sell, there are more homes for sale. And vice versa, during the holiday season fewer home sell but there are fewer buyers.

What is the MLS?

MLS stands for Multiple Listing Service. It is a database where real estate agents share the homes they have for sale with other agents. This essentially allows any agent the ability to sell every home that is on the market whether it is listed with their agency or not. Typically the agent who lists the property for sale on the MLS will offer half of their commission to the agent who finds the buyer.

How do real estate agents get paid?

Typically the agent who represents the seller will charge them 5 or 6% of the selling price. The seller’s agent will then typically offer half of their commission to any agent on the MLS who finds the buyer.
